One of my favorite motivational speakers is a guy by the
name of Brian Tracy, who is one of the world's top experts on success
psychology and personal achievement. In case you haven't heard of Brian, he is
sort of like a calmer, more "laid back" version of infomercial guru,
Tony Robbins.

The 300 movie workout is the talk of the fitness world. It's helped
actors chisel Greek Statue bodies while causing weight loss and
calorie burning for the rest of us.
The 300 workout is legendary, having been featured in Men's Health
and on ESPN. Everyone's looking for the 300 workout on the 'Net. So
I made mini-version of the workout for the average guy and gal, see
those below.

Body Wraps and Waist Wraps - The difference between losing fat and losing inches |
|
Written by Tom Venuto, CSCS, NSCA-CPT

"Body wraps" have been around for ages in the weight loss and spa industry.
Claims include loss of body weight, loss of body fat, and loss of inches.
Infomercials for rubber “waist belts" are also back on TV and similar claims are
made for these types of wraps as well. What few people realize is that there is
a huge difference between losing fat and losing inches. When your body fat
decreases, your circumference measurements will usually also decrease, but “fat”
loss and “inch” loss are not one in the same. If you don’t know how to tell the
difference, you could be falling for one of the oldest, most notorious fitness
and weight loss scams in the book.
The truth is, body wraps and waist belts do not shrink fat cells or burn body
fat - no matter what type of wrap is used: bandages, plastic, foil, vinyl, or
rubber and regardless of what you are wrapped in: herbs, minerals, enzymes,
seaweed, clay, or mud - it doesn't matter. Fat can only be lost with a caloric
deficit from a reduction in food intake, an increase in activity or ideally, a
combination of both.

Politically Incorrect Weight Loss |

You know who is your worst enemy in the fight against fat?
Well-meaning fitness professionals that don't want to make you feel bad for
being lazy and eating crap. That's who.
They write articles about how "diets are bad", how you can lift soup cans
and get fitness model arms, and how you should exercise in the nice and easy
"fat burning zone" to get results. Basically, they give you what want to hear -
plenty of excuses for avoiding hard exercise and strict nutrition (the real keys
to fat loss).
But I don't. You'll get no such excuses from me.

Ab Workouts Do Not Cause Stomach Fat Loss |
|
Written by Mike Geary

It seems that everyone is always asking me what the best ab workouts are to get a flatter stomach. The common belief that ab workouts will help you to lose belly fat is one of the biggest misconceptions I deal with daily as a fitness professional. Almost everyone has varying degrees of excess body fat in the abdominal region, and the best way to burn off that extra stomach fat continues to elude most.

The Big Picture of Permanent Weight Loss |

Written by Will Brink

Most people who read my articles and e-books know me
as a science guy who likes to quote studies and apply research to everyday
problems such as weight loss, bodybuilding, and other health/fitness related
topics. However, sometimes you have to step back from the science and look at
the big picture to help bring people back into focus, so they can see the forest
for the trees, so to speak.
